Casual Soapbox is a blog, the purpose of which is to provide me with a venue to expound upon politics, popular culture, religion, humor, and any other topic that boils my blood. I'd love to say I have big plans for this site, but I don't, except to bloviate pompously, deprecate myself and others, practice my verbal skills, and pathetically imitate popular people I admire. Slow news day today, which is a good thing.... But here's some local news that seemed overlooked from the other Austin blogs I read (links are posted to my blog):

Nothing else for me to say, I'm still waking up....
The title of this should be "Talk To Yourself", though I'm fairly used to having a response rate of "0" on my blog :) It's a place for me to think aloud more than anything, and it gives me a good reference point to return to for links on subjects I'm tracking.
For example, I just posted about the Austin housing market's potential attractiveness for rental houses. Let's see what I think about that a year from now.
I know what you mean, TH. Most days I feel that's exactly what I'm doing here. And things have suddenly picked up for me both in my personal life and at work, so I barely even have time for talking to myself.
Thanks for the updates. That's really too bad about the Austin housing market. My house finally just reappreciated to its purchase price. :/
